The New Small Group Ministry at New Bridges UMC

At New Bridges United Methodist Church, we believe that faith was never meant to be a solo journey. While our Sunday morning worship inspires us, it is in the intimate space of a small group that we truly become family. We are reclaiming our Methodist heritage of deep connection to ensure that no one in our church walks alone.

How It Works: The Basics ▼
  • A Place for Everyone: Every person who calls New Bridges home will be assigned to a small group. While attendance is never mandatory, your inclusion is guaranteed!
  • The Sweet Spot: Groups are intentionally kept to 12-15 people. Big enough for diverse conversation, small enough to be truly known.
  • Monthly Gatherings: The official group meeting happens just once a month. A rhythm that fits real life without causing burnout.
  • Continuous Connection: While the formal gathering is monthly, the relationships are everyday. Stay in touch via texts, coffee, and prayer.

Connect

Building genuine relationships. Every meeting starts with hospitality. This is a relaxed time to catch up on life, share some laughs, and simply enjoy being together.

Edify

Growing together in faith. We don't just share opinions; we share our faith. Using a provided discussion guide based on our Sunday sermons, we focus on encouraging one another.

Care

Supporting each other through life. We look out for one another. Through presence and prayer we support each other and we make sure that no one walks through a difficult season alone.

We Need You: Become a Small Group Leader!

You don't need expert knowledge or previous experience to lead a small group. We are looking for people who bring people together. Could you do these three simple things?

  • Have a heart for people.
  • Check in with people regularly.
  • Turn to the provided discussion guide and facilitate conversation.

Small Group Sunday

Every 1st Sunday of the Month

Join us for a beautiful new rhythm of worship! On the first Sunday of every month, instead of our traditional morning service, we gather intentionally with our circles.

After spending meaningful time connecting and growing in our small groups, we will all gather back together in the sanctuary to conclude our morning by sharing Holy Communion as one united family.
